BEDCL

ABOUT US

BEDCL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED SINCE 1980

The BEDCL formerly known as an EDCL was formed in the early 1980s, by a group of enthusiastic cricket lovers. The league started with 8 teams and grew steadily over the years. With the ever growing popularity of the sport in Ontario, the league’s number of teams grew rapidly and the organization started to work even closer with the cities to acquire Cricket Fields.

The EDCL became BEDCL (Brampton Etobicoke District Cricket League) and as of 2024 it stands heads and shoulders above any league in Canada. It boasts an astonishing statistic of players and teams. Having started with a format of 50 over games, the BEDCL adjusted to new formats and started a T25 morning league in 2002 which has seen unprecedented growth. With the BEDCL President, Praim Persaud, working closely with the city of Brampton established the development of two floodlit cricket grounds in 2021. This brought into play a T20 Evening league with huge demand and excitement.

As of August 2024, the BEDL is proud to present the following statistics, which would be more if they had access to more facility time:
